St. Michael’s Catholic Academy celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival also known as the Moon Cake Festival. It is a celebration celebrated by families who gather together. They eat delicious moon cakes, light lanterns, and celebrate what the moon symbolizes. SMCA Students, Faculty, and Parents celebrated it with various activities including a Festival trivia contest, Parents versus Faculty Chopstick and Bean Challenge, Chinese song and dance, and moon cake tasting. The Festival has been celebrated by people all over the world for over 2,000 years.
